(More customer reviews)These look exactly like the picture. The description states these are a stronger version of a previous design. I can see if they were thinner, they'd be quite prone to breaking. They have a nice feel to them, the weight gives a solid feel, the double wall is a neat effect and it keeps drinks cool or hot, as advertised. They have a slight look to show they are handmade, but it's subtle. I'd guess the breakability would be that of a simple drinking glass, no more, no less. I really like these glasses and I am buying more.

(More customer reviews)In my never-ending need to own fancy things, I foolishly bought these glasses when they were first released, for even more than they cost now (although they are still expensive). Folks, please stick with plastic insulated glasses! I know that plastic is tacky, but some things are just more trouble than they are worth. You WILL BREAK these glasses, no matter how hard you try not to, so maybe its a good deal that Amazon is presently offering a deal on them.
In short: these glasses are easier to break than my Riedel Bordeaux glasses (in other words, FRAGILE); the glasses allow water to seep into the small hole on the bottom during hand washing, which is ugly (the tiny hole on the bottom of the glass prevents the glass from cracking due to rapid temperature changes); and dropping ice into the glasses or using too hot or cold a beverage will crack them. The only upside is they look nice for awhile (until water seeps in, or a hair line crack appears).
My first set was crushed in shipment. Amazon had not wrapped it in bubble wrap or anything else, and the Bodum box is severely lacking in built-in protection. Amazon DID ship new ones right away.
Save yourself the trouble of worrying about and dealing with these glasses! Pretty enough for awhile, you will find yourself so worried about ruining these expensive glasses that you will sit them on your shelves and simply stare at them. I really am sorry to say this... I don't give many negative reviews, and I generally like Bodum products.

My stints with stainless steel coffee mugs were not oh-so-beautiful.
But this glass travel mug is just what I'm looking for. Screw on cap is 100% spill-proof so I can actually, for the first time, put my tea in my bag horizontally and not worry about spills.
I also love the fact that it's glass- so a good wash and rinse in hot water makes it squeaky clean and virtually odorless everytime!

(More customer reviews)Excellent size -- about the same as a 16 oz bottled water (but in fact 18oz) -- and the way the lid extends out so you can attach a clip to your belt is very sturdy and perfectly sized so that your water bottle will hang perfectly against your waist, neither too snug nor too loose. (You must buy your own clip.)
The acrylic "straw tip" that you touch to your lips is solidly built, and long enough so that you won't bump your nose while drinking. The straw tip connects to a softer plastic straw that descends to the bottom of the jar so you do not have to tilt it to drink.
The transparent design of the jar makes it easy to see how much water you have left, and the opening is large enough to put ice into, and it is easy to clean.
One problem. If you take this with you from the outdoors into your (hot) car, and then after driving a few blocks try to take a drink, water will shoot out of the straw like a geyser as the pressure equalizes. There's a little air valve that looks as if it is meant to keep this from happening, but, it happens. (When heated, air expands, which creates pressure to push out the water at the first chance it gets.)
I like the bottle so much otherwise, that I am keeping it, but I am remembering to be very careful when opening it for the first time after having been in my car. (There's no way to stop it from happening, but, you can aim it at a plant or something.)
