Regular glassware if they fell, would most likely break, and sometimes in the dishwasher glasses would chip. NOT THESE!!! Of course if you drop them enough they will break, but we've had none break yet, and we are clumpsy. They are very sturdy. they have a unique design. Heavy weighted.

Only con is that they feel a little thin, like they might chip or break easy, but I have not experienced any problems in the month or so that I have owned them. In fact I just bought a second set.
