(More customer reviews)I have no windows that can use a window A/C unit. I bought 2 of these when my central A/C was broken. This unit cools a 400 sq foot room as advertised. It is easy to install. It is, however, very loud on the high fan setting. One of the units kept turning off, this happens when the water tray at the bottom fills up. The only difference in the installation was that the vent hose was fully extended on the one that was turning off. I moved it closer to the window and collapsed the length of the hose and it stopped condensing as much water and stopped shutting off. When you do need to empty the water it is quite awkward, you have to unscrew the cap at the bottom and then remove the rubber plug (the plug part isn't described in the manual, at first I wondered why no water was coming out after I unscrewed the cap). The plug is close to the ground so if you can't move the whole unit outdoors to empty on the ground you need to find a large low pan to collect the water. Tipping the unit will cause water to spill over the vents in the back when it is full.
